Tarot Spreads · A Whole Story
A spread reads several cards together, each in a named position, so they talk to each other — past, present, future; situation, action, outcome; or the full ten-card Celtic Cross. Where one card is a single note, a spread is a whole phrase: it shows where a matter came from, where it stands, and where it’s heading.
Choose the spread that fits your question, turn the cards one by one, then read them as a single story with a synthesis and a piece of advice. Velatar offers six spreads, from a quick three-card flow to the deep Celtic Cross.
Common questions
Which spread should I choose?
For a quick read on one matter, try Flow of Time (past–present–future) or Choice (situation–action–outcome). For something tangled or important, the ten-card Celtic Cross goes deepest. Each spread lists its positions so you can pick by fit.
What is the Celtic Cross?
A classic ten-card spread that opens a matter from every angle — present, challenge, root, past, what you aim for, near future, your stance, the environment, hopes and fears, and the likely outcome. It’s the most thorough read here.
How many cards does a spread use?
It depends — from three cards up to ten for the Celtic Cross. Larger spreads unlock with membership later; the three-card spreads are open to everyone now.
Is the outcome card fixed?
No. The “outcome” is only where things lead if nothing changes — a forecast, never a verdict. Change any step in the middle and it rewrites itself.
